CAMINANDES POLICIES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Agencia CaminAndes, RUT 76.929.334-5, address Caracoles 66, San Pedro de Atacama, Antofagasta Region, hereinafter referred to as “The Agency”, “Caminandes” or “The Company”.
CaminAndes Agency hereby communicates all information about cancellation, refund policies, and other eventualities that may intervene in the normal development of an excursion program, a tour, or a booking. This stipulates the conditions under which we work as Caminandes.
1. Reservation
Our company has as a requirement for the booking of our excursions the prepayment of at least 50% of the total value of the service. The rest will be charged on the day of arrival in San Pedro de Atacama, ready to start your experience. The initial cost is charged to assure the client of the realization of his excursions and to guarantee the anticipated operations that are necessary for the perfect functioning and development of the tour.
Our company requires a minimum upfront payment of 50% of the total service cost for booking our excursions. The remaining amount will be charged on the day of arrival in San Pedro de Atacama, ready to begin your experience. The initial cost is charged to ensure the client the realization of their tours and to guarantee the advanced operations necessary for the perfect functioning and development of the tour.
The requested reservation will be 100% confirmed only after the 50% deposit of the total value of the excursion package has been made. The deposit can be made through our bank account, international transfer, or credit/debit card. The remaining 50% of the excursion package must be paid before the start of the first service by the following methods: cash (Chilean peso only/CLP), credit/debit card, bank transfer, or Transferwise.
2. Cancellations
Reservation cancellations must be requested up to 30 days before the start of the program to receive a full 100% refund of the payment made. If such deadline is not respected, penalties will apply as per the following scale:
- From 29 days to 10 days before the start of the program: 25% penalty on the total value of the reservation;
- From 9 days to 5 days before the start of the program: 50% penalty on the total value of the reservation;
- From 4 days to 2 days before the start of the program: 75% penalty on the total value of the reservation;
- There are no refunds for reservations canceled one day before the start of the program.
2.1. Cancellations After Commencement of the Tour Program
Cancellations, total or partial, after the first service, will not be refunded. The service must be paid 100%, for any reason that may occur.
2.2. Weather-Related Cancellations in Tours
In case of strong wind, rain, snow, or other weather conditions or any event beyond our control, which represents a risk to the safety of our passengers, the guide may decide to modify the itinerary of the program waiting for more favorable weather conditions, making a different route or even temporarily terminate the expedition.
If the tour for which it was substituted is of equal value, there will be no refund. If it has a lower value, the difference between the originally contracted tour value will be refunded. If it has a higher value, the difference in value will be charged.
Sub-clause: If a tour cannot be carried out, 100% of the tour price will be refunded. Park tickets purchased in advance are subject to park policies. In case of non-return, the agency is not responsible.

Payments made with a credit card will be refunded directly to the same card. Once the cancellation is processed, the bank will take up to 5 business days to issue the refund. Payments made by international transfer will be refunded in the same manner. Payments made in cash and/or by national transfer will be refunded through the same method.
5. Theft, Objects, and Documents Loss
CaminAndes assumes no liability for the theft or loss of items such as objects, accessories, documents, bank cards, and any other personal belongings that are forgotten or left behind in the vehicle or on tour.
6. Tour Equipment
Any equipment provided by CaminAndes must be returned by the passenger in perfect condition. The passenger is responsible for any loss or damage to the equipment.
7. Itinerary Non-compliance by CaminAndes
In the event a passenger is not picked up for their scheduled tour, CaminAndes, upon notification within the first 30 minutes following the passenger pick-up time, will arrange for a shuttle vehicle to facilitate rejoining the ongoing tour. If it is not feasible to integrate the passenger into the tour, CaminAndes will offer alternatives such as modifying the itinerary or providing a full refund for the missed excursion.
8. Pre-existing Medical Conditions of the Passenger
If a passenger has a pre-existing medical condition, such as diabetes, hypertension, or any other chronic illness, it is the passenger’s responsibility to inform his/her doctor about the trip. This is particularly important if the passenger wishes to engage in activities like trekking and/or volcano tours. Additionally, the passenger should obtain written authorization from their doctor confirming their fitness to undertake activities at high altitudes and in extreme weather conditions.
